Weather Policy:

The NEMT Program in Allegany County operates whenever it is safe to do so for our participants as well as our drivers.  However, if a State of Emergency is issued, the vans will not operate until the State of Emergency has been lifted.  If roads become unsafe for our participants/drivers, transports will be cancelled and an attempt will be made to contact the affected recipients.  Some cancelled trips could be area specific.  If the main roads are passable but side roads are impassable, an attempt will be made to reach the recipient and give them the option of walking to an area that is safe for transport or to cancel their ride.

If offices have been closed and there are no transportation services, the recipients will hear a message indicating that the offices are closed and the anticipated time offices will reopen.  Recipients may also check local radio stations for weather-related closings.

For more information regarding transportation, call 301-759-5123.
