How to Apply

You can apply for Medicaid or the Maryland Children’s Health Program at any time. Your coverage can start right away if you are eligible.

There is no wrong way to apply for Medicaid. Someone will help you wherever you apply.

You are eligible for Medicaid if you get Supplemental Security Income (SSI). You do not need to apply.

You may be eligible for Medicaid during the 24-month waiting period for Medicare if you are a person with a disability.
