NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Informal Public Comment Opportunity
Proposed Regulations Revisions
Pursuant to the Maryland Regulatory Review and Evaluation Act, the Maryland State Board of Chiropractic Examiners (the "Board") is engaging in a periodic review of certain chapters of its regulations, specifically, 10.43.01 General Regulations; 10.43.02 Rules of Procedure for Board Hearings; 10.43.03 Advertising; 10.43.04 Licensure by Credentials for Chiropractors; 10.43.06 Fees; 10.43.07 Chiropractic Assistants; 10.43.08 Licensure and Registration Examination – Special Needs Applicants; 10.43.09 Monetary Penalties; 10.43.11 Licensure Examination; 10.43.12 Procedures for Clinical Demonstrations in Public Places; 10.43.13 Code of Ethics; 10.43.14 Record Keeping; and 10.43.15 Sanctioning Guidelines, to ensure that the contents of those chapters continue to be necessary for the public interest, continue to be supported by statutory authority, and are not obsolete. During this review, the Board has preliminarily identified several areas in need of updating, clarification, or repeal. The Board is now seeking informal public comments on its proposed revisions to several chapters of the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR).
The Board will hold public information meetings on the proposed regulations on August 13, 2026, and August 20, 2026.
Digital Licenses Now Available!
Digital licenses and registrations are now available through the online license portal for Chiropractors and Chiropractic Assistants.
Newly issued licenses/registrations, upgrades, name changes, replacements, and duplicate license/registration requests will be issued electronically as digital licenses or registrations. Licensees and registrants will receive email Instructions when the digital license or registration is available for download.
Current Chiropractors and Chiropractic Assistants may sign up through the online portal to download a digital license or registration and view open or past service requests with the Board.
Digital licenses and registrations include a QR code that allows for quick and secure verification through the online license verification system.
Chiropractor License Categories
A. General Chiropractor, with or without Physical Therapy Privileges (PT), with or without Dry Needling Privileges
- PT privileges are required to perform PT modalities and/or physical therapy rehab with patients
- Registration is required to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling.
B. Supervising Chiropractor with Physical Therapy Privileges (PT), with or
without Dry Needling Privileges
- Authorized to employ and supervise Chiropractic Assistants (CAs) and CA trainees. CAs must be register with the Board upon completion of the CA training program within one year of Board authorization. See CA Trainee training program requirements pursuant to COMAR 10.43.07.01 - .18.
- Registration is required to perform Trigger Point Dry Needling.
Payments & Form Submission
As of February 1, 2025, the Board no longer
accepts checks, money orders, or paper applications by mail. All payments and required documents must be submitted through our online portal.
Implicit Bias and Structural Racism Training
All Chiropractors and
Chiropractic Assistants are required to complete the implicit bias and structural racism training at their first renewal after April 1, 2026. The list of approved courses may be accessed using this link: Approved Implicit Bias Training Courses.

Reinstatement - JP Examination Requirement
Applicants must take and
pass the Jurisprudence Examination to qualify for reinstatement. Contact the Board for guidance and total fees. See Law §3–310(a)(4)
Address Change
