    Google Translate Disclaimer

    The Maryland Department of Information Technology (“DoIT”) offers translations of the content through Google Translate. Because Google Translate is an external website, DoIT does not control the quality or accuracy of translated content. All DoIT content is filtered through Google Translate which may result in unexpected and unpredictable degradation of portions of text, images and the general appearance on translated pages. Google Translate may maintain unique privacy and use policies. These policies are not controlled by DoIT and are not associated with DoIT’s privacy and use policies. After selecting a translation option, users will be notified that they are leaving DoIT’s website. Users should consult the original English content on DoIT’s website if there are any questions about the translated content.

    DoIT uses Google Translate to provide language translations of its content. Google Translate is a free, automated service that relies on data and technology to provide its translations. The Google Translate feature is provided for informational purposes only. Translations cannot be guaranteed as exact or without the inclusion of incorrect or inappropriate language. Google Translate is a third-party service and site users will be leaving DoIT to utilize translated content. As such, DoIT does not guarantee and does not accept responsibility for, the accuracy, reliability, or performance of this service nor the limitations provided by this service, such as the inability to translate specific files like PDFs and graphics (e.g. .jpgs, .gifs, etc.).

    DoIT provides Google Translate as an online tool for its users, but DoIT does not directly endorse the website or imply that it is the only solution available to users. All site visitors may choose to use alternate tools for their translation needs. Any individuals or parties that use DoIT content in translated form, whether by Google Translate or by any other translation services, do so at their own risk.     What is Medicaid?

    Medicaid is a public health insurance program. It is free or low-cost health insurance for eligible low-income adults, children, pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with disabilities. It is the largest health care program in the United States.

    In Maryland, Medicaid covers about 1.8 million people. Nearly one in four Marylanders get their health insurance through Medicaid. Half of those covered are children. Locally, people also call it Medical Assistance.

    ​​April 1, 2024 - Notice HealthChoice Managed Care Members

    ​​​On May 1, 2024, most Medicaid members in a HealthChoice health plan will now pay a $1 or $3 copay for most prescriptions. There is still no copay for family planning drugs or vaccines.
    Some members will still have no copay for any drug. There is no copay for those who are younger than 21, pregnant, Native American, or living in long-term care.

    ​February 29, 2024 - Request for Public Comment
    ​The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) will submit a 1915(c) Home and Community-Based Services Waiver renewal application for the Waiver for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (Autism Waiver) to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to renew the five year term for the Autism Waiver effective July 1, 2024.

    On February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare experienced a cypersecurity issue resulting in a network outage. The Maryland Department of Health has investigated and found no sign that the Change Healthcare cyber-attack compromised our systems.     ​Februrary 16, 2024 - eMedicaid Notice Update
    ​​eMedicaid Users:  On or about February 21, 2024,  you will need to use email multi-factor authentication to log in to your eMedicaid online account. You will need to enter a one-time passcode to access your account. Each time you log in, you will receive a temporary code by email. If your email address in your user profile is not up to date, you will not be able to access your account. Contact your local administrator if you are unable to access your account, need help to update your email address or to reset your password.​
