​​Healthy Families Allegany County

Healthy Families Allegany County is a free and voluntary home visiting program helping pregnant women and parents of newborns get their children off to a healthy and safe start.

How can Healthy Families assist me?

  • Introduce positive parenting skills.​
  • Assist in accessing local resources (i.e. counseling, housing, smoking cessation, etc.).
  • Empower families to feel confident in themselves.
  • Inform families about child health and development.
  • Track developmental milestones.
  • Encourage play time that enhances child development.

Who is Eligible? 

Residents of Allegany County who are pregnant or delivered a baby within the last three month​s.

Infant and Toddler Program

The Infant and Toddler program is a group effort of the Board of Education of Allegany County, the Allegany County Department of Social Services and the Allegany County Health Department, in cooperation with local medical providers.

The three agencies and providers work together to meet the educational, emotional, social, and physical needs of children that may have a developmental delay.

  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Speech/Language
  • Vision Services

If you believe your child is having difficulty with development such as speech, learning and solving problems, interacting with others, using small and large muscles for walking or picking up objects, or has feeding concerns, there is help.
