​​STI Testing

STI testing is offered every Tuesday from 8:00 to 10:45 a.m. and 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. on a walk-in basis.  No appointment needed.  Confidential screening.  STI testing may include chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonas, syphilis, HIV, yeast, bacterial vaginosis, herpes, and hepatitis B and C.  Many STIs are treatable.  However, they may not always cause symptoms.

HIV Testing

HIV testing is offered Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 3:30p.m. on a walk-in basis or by appointment.  No charge.  Confidential results.

HIV Clinical Case Management Services

The Allegany County Health Department offers HIV specialty care in partnership with Johns Hopkins Hospital.

PrEP Clinic (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis)

By appointment only.  One pill a day can prevent HIV infection with up to 90% effectiveness.  High risk populations include the following:

  • ​Gay/bisexual males
  • Persons with multiple sexual partners with unknown HIV status
  • HIV positive partners
  • Injection drug users that share equipment
