Rabies

​​The Carroll County Health Department's Rabies Control program helps prevent rabies infections in people and control the spread of rabies in animals. Rabies Control staff:​

  • ​Follow up on animal bites and scratches​
  • Work with Animal Control
  • Manage pet quarantines
  • Send samples to the lab for rabies testing
  • Offer low-cost rabies vaccination clinics for pets​ (next clinic date TBD)

To report an animal bite that occured in Carroll County, Maryland​: 

  • Call the Carroll County Health Department at 410-876-1884 or 1-800-966-3877 during business hours (Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm). 
  • Evenings and weekends, call Carroll County Animal Control 410-848-4810 or the Carroll County Emergency Communications Center at 410-386-2260. 
  • ​In case of an emergency, dial 911.   ​​​​
