The Carroll County Health Department helps eligible Maryland residents apply for Medical Assistance (also called MA or Medicaid). Medical Assistance provides free or low-cost medical care for eligible low-income people who qualify.
You can apply for Medical Assistance at any time. We can also help you apply for health insurance through the Maryland Health Connection.
Maryland's Child Health Insurance Program (MCHP) provides full health benefits for children under age 19 who are not eligible for Medical Assistance, and pregnant women who meet income limits.
