​The Licensing Renewal Portal Opens 7/15/2026

Do I have to renew my license in 2026?

  • If you are not sure, go to License Verificat​ion Page
  • Put in your license #  - find your original license year and due date for renewal
  • Social Work licenses are renewed every two years on a odd/even cycle​​​

Are there any new requirements for renewal?

  • Yes, all health occupations license holders must attest to a one-time only completion of a Structural Racism course
  • This is new addition to the prior Implicit Bias requirement per​​ HB 782
  • For more information and training resources, click this link to the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (MHHD):  MHHD Implicit Bias & Structural Racism for Health Professionals
  • When you complete your online renewal application, you will check the box at the end of the application to attest to the one-time completion of the one-time only Structural Racism and Implicit Bias

​​How many CEUs do I need?

  • 40 total credits for LMSW, LCSW, or LCSW-C
  • 30 total credits for LBSW
