Each year, the Center for Immunization collects immunization data on public and private kindergarten students. This data is compiled into tables that provide coverage and exemption rates for individual schools. Data is omitted for schools with fewer than 10 students in order to protect the privacy of the students assessed.
The most recent data presented here (2023-2024, 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years) report vaccine coverage rates. Coverage is an assessment of whether children have been vaccinated or not. The calculation of vaccine coverage rates includes only kindergartners who have been vaccinated in the numerator. It does not include kindergartners with a medical or religious exemption, since they are not vaccinated. The denominator for vaccine coverage calculations is the total number of kindergartners enrolled in the school.
The earlier data (school years 2015-2016 through 2022-2023) represents compliance rates, not coverage rates. Compliance is an assessment of whether children are in compliance with school vaccination regulations. The calculation of vaccine compliance rates includes kindergartners who have been vaccinated, and those with an exemption in the numerator and denominator.
Some schools may not have data represented in this spreadsheet. The school may not have submitted an immunization survey for that year, or they may not have had any kindergarten students that year.
