Local Health Improvement Coalition FY 2020 Call for Proposals (APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED)
The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission has released its FY 2020 Local Health Improvement Coalition Request for Proposal. This request for proposal is only for Local Health Improvement Coalitions.
LHDs/LHICs must submit the application forms to the CHRC no later than Wednesday, October 14, 2020, to lhic.fy2020rfp@maryland.gov.
The CHRC Commissioners will issue grant awards at their meeting in late October 2020.

Promoting Community Health Resources: Supporting innovative, replicable, and sustainable projects that serve vulnerable populations and promote health equity is the grants program of the CHRC. The program will award grants to community health resources serving Maryland residents. The RFP has the following three strategic priorities:
(1) Preserving or enhancing the state's ability to serve vulnerable populations regardless of insurance status:
(2) Promoting health equity by reducing health disparities and addressing the social determinants of health; and
(3) Supporting community-based projects that are innovative, sustainable, and replicable.
In this year’s Call for Proposals, the Commission will consider projects in three categories:
- Promoting delivery of essential health services: primary/preventative care, dental, and women’s health services;
- Addressing the heroin and opioid epidemic through behavioral health integration;
- Promoting food security and other efforts to address diabetes through prevention and management.

The Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC) released the FY 2019 Call for Proposals on October 17. We are looking to hire independent reviewers (click on the following solicitations for essential health, behavioral health and food security specialties) to evaluate the proposals received. Proposals are due to the CHRC on December 17, and we will request reviewers to return their evaluations by January 11, 2018.
