Becoming an In-Facility Test Site or MDGNATS Evaluator for the GNA Examination

MDGNATS is attempting to accommodate the number of Certified Nursing Assistants applying to take the GNA exam given the number of regional test sites in the State of Maryland. With testing occurring essentially on weekends, and the high percentage of candidates requiring re-testing, along with weather delays, it has become difficult to assign candidates to a testing date and site in a timely manner.

In response to this problem the Board is strongly encouraging programs to apply to become In-Facility Testing sites and to establish partnerships among training programs. In-Facility testing allows candidates to test in a familiar and comfortable setting at a time that is most convenient for candidates and the facility. The training program instructors must become MDGNATS evaluators. RN Evaluators are unable to test their own students. Partnering would enable training programs to test each other's students, thus eliminating any conflict of interest. Scheduled test dates would not have to be exclusive to Saturdays but could take place at a mutually agreed upon day and time during the week.
