The Queen Anne’s County Food Protection Program enforces the Maryland Code of Regulations that applies to Food Service Facilities (FSFs), COMAR 10.15.03. The goal of Queen Anne’s County Food Protection Program is to work with owners and operators of food facilities to ensure food safety throughout the County.
Food Service Facilities regulated by COMAR and require licensure and inspections include the following:
- Full Service Restaurants
- Fast Food Facilities
- Schools
- Nursing Homes
- Farmers Markets
- Mobile Units
- Grocery Stores
- Fair Vendors
- Temporary Event Vendors (fundraisers, sports events, carnivals, etc.)
The Environmental Health Division reviews construction plans for new facilities, conducts pre-opening and operational inspections, responds to consumer complaints and/or inquiries, investigates foodborne illness outbreaks and provides food safety information.
