Inactive Status: Licensees and registrants who wish to maintain or request Inactive Status should complete the appropriate renewal or status process through the Chiropractic Portal.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requirements are subject to change.
Chiropractic Assistants
Continuing education courses must be completed between
April 1, 2025, and the date you submit your online renewal application.
Continuing Education Requirements

10 hours of continuing education related to chiropractic
- Possess an
unexpired CPR certificate
- Complete a
Structural Racism Training Course if you completed the Implicit Bias training for the 2025 renewal
- Complete an
Implicit Bias and Structural Racism Training Course if this is your first renewal
CE Exemption for New Chiropractic Assistants
If you received your
initial registration after March 31, 2026, and your registration expiration date is
March 31, 2027, you are exempt from continuing education requirements for this renewal cycle.
However, you must still:
Chiropractors
Continuing education courses must be completed between
September 2, 2025, and the date you submit your online renewal application.
Mandatory CE Courses
Chiropractors must complete
8 hours of mandatory continuing education:

3 hours – Risk Management

3 hours – Communicable Diseases / Sanitary Procedures

1 hour – Jurisprudence

1 hour – Cultural Diversity
Elective Courses

40 hours of elective continuing education
CPR Requirement
At the time of renewal, Chiropractors must hold a
current CPR card at the provider level.
Implicit Bias and Structural Racism Training
- Chiropractors who completed an
Implicit Bias Training Course for the 2025 renewal must complete an approved
Structural Racism Training course.
- If this is your
first license renewal, you must complete an approved
Implicit Bias and Structural Racism Training Course.
CE Exemption for New Chiropractors
If you received your
initial license after September 1, 2026, and your license expiration date is
September 1, 2027, you are exempt from continuing education requirements for this renewal cycle.
However, you must still:
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
Address or Name Changes
Licensees and registrants must notify the Board within
60 days of a name or address change. Failure to notify the Board of an address change may result in a
$200 penalty.
Address and name changes should be submitted through the
Chiropractic Portal.
Tax Liens or Child Support Hold
If a licensee or registrant has a
tax lien or child support hold, the Board cannot complete the renewal until the appropriate State agency provides clearance.

IMPLICIT BIAS AND STRUCTURAL RACISM TRAINING
In 2025, Maryland enacted Health Occupations
§1-225 , which requires certain health professionals to complete training in implicit bias and structural racism.
For the 2027 renewal:
- If this is your
first renewal, complete an approved
Implicit Bias and Structural Racism Training Course.
- If you previously completed the
Implicit Bias Training Course for the 2025 renewal, complete the required
Structural Racism Training Course.
