Join our second Community of Practice (CoP) session, where local health departments (LHDs) and community organizations come together to continue building impactful partnerships. This session focuses on advancing the connects made in our previous meeting, offering fresh strategies and innovative ideas for effective networking and relationship-building. In this interactive session, you will discover new approaches to strengthen and expand your public health partnerships; participate in focused discussions tailored to both local health departments and community organizations; and exchange contact information, brainstorm collaborative ideas, and deepen discussions on leveraging partnerships for enhanced public health outcomes.

​The National Academies Roundtable on the Promotion of Health Equity will host a public hybrid workshop on October 9, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ET at t National Academies of Sciences in Washington, DC. The workshop will focus on the influence of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) legislation and policies on creating a more diverse health care and public health workforce. Topics to be addressed include recent changes in state legislation and policies affecting this workforce, their impact on medical and public health training and curriculum, and strategies for student and faculty recruitment and retention. Additionally, the workshop will explore potential solutions to mitigate any negative effects of these policy changes.
