Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD):

At least five of the following symptoms must be present during the week preceding the onset of menses:

  • depressed mood,
  • anxiety,
  • affective lability,
  • irritability,
  • decreased interest,
  • difficulty concentrating,
  • lethargy,
  • change in appetite,
  • hypersomnia or insomnia,
  • sense of being overwhelmed, or
  • physical symptoms.

 

At least one of the symptoms must be depressed mood, anxiety, affective lability, or irritability. The symptoms must cause distress or impairment.
