MCH Epidemiology

​MIS​SION STATEMENT

The Maryland Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Epidemiology team  leads the collection, analysis, and interpretation of maternal and child health data, including  children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN), Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS), Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) program, Child Fatality Review (CFR), Maternal Mortality Review (MMR), Fetal and Infant Mortality Review (FIMR), Severe Maternal Morbidity (SMM), Family Planning, and Reproductive Health. 
 
Epidemiologists generate reports and data briefs on maternal and child health topics in response to leadership and legislative action for public review. Staff engage with public health leadership to implement and evaluate programs to promote health, develop data-driven policies, and collaborate with the community.
