Module # 11 – Breast and Nipple Concerns

Overview:

Module # 11 discusses the physical examination and assessment of the breasts and nipples of nursing mothers and covers topics on the causes and management of breast and nipple concerns.

Objectives:

Discuss breast and nipple assessment and the causes of breast engorgement, blocked ducts, mastitis and sore nipples.
Provide teaching points on recognizing and managing these conditions.
