Fitness Committee

​The purpose of the Fitness Committee is to educate, advise, and encourage the citizens of Maryland to gain health benefits and enhance the quality of their lives through regular physical activity. The goal of the Committee is to increase awareness and participation in inclusive and affordable physical activity opportunities in Maryland. Our priority is to reach 5% of the adult population in Maryland with an awareness campaign to promote the health benefits of 150 minutes of physical activity and to reach 2,500 Marylanders with physical fitness programming to increase activity by December 2021.
