About Our Program:
The Maryland Alcohol Program is a Maryland Department of Health (MDH) initiative focused on providing critical data on excessive alcohol use to inform and strengthen prevention programs across the state through funding from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Maryland is one of 12 states with similar funding to do this work.

Our Mission Our goal is to make Maryland better at preventing and reducing harms caused by excessive alcohol use. We do this by using data to guide our plans, working with partners across the state, and sharing our findings quickly.
What We Do
Track Alcohol Use: We watch trends across the state using surveys (like BRFSS), hospital data, and death records.
Create Data Tools: We make easy-to-understand data reports and fact pictures for counties.
Hold Meetings: We host regular meetings with partners to talk about policies, data, and community actions.
Offer Help: We give advice and tools to local health departments and other groups.
