Maryland Medicaid offers two reentry programs that reimburse for justice-involved (JI) case management. To participate in a reentry program, a correctional facility must meet the eligibility and service requirements for either the Medicaid Reentry Program for Children and Young Adults or the Medicaid Reentry SUD/SMI Program for Adults.
Provider Requirements
- A correctional facility must enroll as a Medicaid Justice Involved (JI) Correctional Facility provider type (PT-GJ), before they can provide and bill for JI case management services.
- To enroll, see the Provider Type GJ Application Addendum and the Provider Enrollment and ePREP Instructions and Training page.
- An individual may not enroll as a JI Correctional Facility Provider.
- JI case management services must meet the criteria outlined in COMAR. For specific requirements, see PT85-26
