NOTICE: eMedicaid Newborn Enrollment Ends February 1, 2026

Starting February 1, 2026, hospital and managed care organization staff must use the Maryland Medicaid Newborn Enrollment Portal to enroll deemed newborns in Medicaid. After January 31, 2026. You will still be able to view enrollments completed in eMedicaid before that date. Request access to the Maryland Medicaid Newborn Enrollment Portal before February 1, 2026, to avoid delays in newborn Medicaid enrollment. For more information, see Provider Transmittal 51-26.

Medicaid Newborn Enrollment Portal

The Medicaid Newborn Enrollment Portal is a new web-based application for authorized hospital and managed care organization staff to enroll a deemed newborn into Medicaid.

A deemed newborn is automatically eligible for Medicaid if on their date of birth their mother was eligible for and received Medicaid covered services.
