MDH CHART Transition Update - 6242026

Thank you for your patience as the Maryland Board of Nursing implements a complex new licensure and certification system. We recognize that users have experienced a number of technical challenges attempting to login and use the upgraded system and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Here are a few things to know:

Logging In: If you have an existing license or certification, do not create a new profile. All you need to do is create a username and password and our system will connect that to your existing account and license data. If you were previously unable to login, please try again before contacting the Board, as recent changes have been made to correct the underlying problem. Still encountering issues? Email [email protected]

Email Error/License Status: Unfortunately, an automated email went out in error the week of June 22, 2026, indicating a change in the status of your multistate license. The status of your multistate license has not changed and remains valid as of June 22, 2026. Visit the Licensure Lookup to see and verify your license or license status. You can also verify through your user portal

Applications & Grace Period: We are accepting paper applications until July 15, 2026 by mail, drop box, and at our front desk. For anyone unable to renew by June 28th, the Maryland Board of Nursing extends a 30-day grace period, during which your license or certification will continue to show as active. While the Board cannot determine whether an employer's internal policies recognize this grace period, there will be no Board-generated notification indicating that a license or certification has become non-renewed until the applicable 30-day grace period has expired and renewal requirements have not been satisfied.

The Maryland Board of Nursing appreciates your partnership as we navigate this complex transition. We are committed to enhancing public service and ensuring healthcare professionals can focus on what matters most—the health and well-being of all Marylanders.
