Physical Activity Excellence Awards

Presented by the Maryland State Advisory Council on Physical Fitness

The Maryland Advisory Council on Physical Fitness has awarded the Maryland Physical Activity Excellence Awards to recognize exemplary efforts to promote physical activity among Maryland youth, adults, and older adults. One individual and one group serving each of these populations was chosen and award recipients include: Zack Kuehne and Elizabeth Shultz, Lisa Cooperstein, Daphne Hicks, Girls on the Run of Montgomery County, Anne Arundel Community College Department of Health and Human Services, and the Seven Oaks Senior Center. The awards ceremony took place on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at the Seven Oaks Senior Center in Baltimore County.​

Award Information

Award Categories:  The State Advisory Council on Physical Fitness will award one individual and one group for each age category.  For the purpose of this award, the age categories are youth (17 and under), adult (18-49 years) and older adult (50 and older).

Award Nominations: Nominations for future awards will be solicited in 2017. Please check back for additional information.
