Providing Community Health Resources Technical Assistance
The Community Health Resources Commission provides direct support to grantees, local health departments, and other community health resources in their efforts to create sustainable programs in underserved communities. Currently, the CHRC is able to assist organizations in areas such as:
(1) GIS mapping services: Customized maps and analysis services are available to community health resources upon request through the CHRC’s partnership with Washington College’s Geographic Information Systems Program.
(2) Grant writing and proposal development: The CHRC supports grantees in their efforts to obtain additional, non-state funding, to create sustainable health care programs through grant writing assistance to CHRC grantees. CHRC has assisted grantees in developing proposals to the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and to national, private organizations.
(3) Data requests and analysis: The CHRC is able to provide data and data analysis to community health resources for requests including poverty/income data, population demographics, health care and health status indicators.

CHRC Business Plan: Technical Assistance and Ongoing Support for Maryland's Safety Net Providers
The CHRC Business Plan articulates recommendations for the CHRC’s provision of technical assistance to community health resources to help safety net provider’s navigate health reform successfully. In the coming weeks and months, the CHRC will be working to implement the recommendations of the business plan and provide community health resources with a more robust selection of technical assistance.
