What is MD-EDRS?
MD-EDRS is a web-based application that Medical Certifiers and Funeral Directors use to report deaths electronically to the Maryland Department of Health.
Accessing MD-EDRS
Only authorized users are permitted to access MD-EDRS. Your organization (funeral establishment/hospital/nursing home/hospice, etc.) will determine who is an authorized user.
What will I need to access MD-EDRS?
You will need a computer with internet connectivity. Users who need to print working copies of certificates and/or burial transit permits will also need a printer. You will need a scanner if you are going to be submitting records started on paper copy certificates by Medical Certifiers. Help Desk Information
- Email questions concerning MD-EDRS to edrs.help@maryland.gov. You will receive a response within one hour for email messages received between 8 am and 4 pm, Monday through Friday. On weekends and holidays, you will receive a response within four hours for email messages received between 7 am and 7 pm. To expedite your request, please indicate the nature of the issue on the subject line.
- If you need technical assistance and do not have access to a computer, you may call 410-764-4671 Monday through Friday (except State holidays) between 8 am and 4 pm. Your call will be returned within two hours.
