Description
Adult Medical Day Care Centers (AMDC) are operated for the purpose of providing medical day care services in an ambulatory care setting to medically compromised adults who do not require 24-hour inpatient care, but, due to their degree of impairment, are not capable of full-time independent living.
OHCQ is responsible for the oversight of adult medical day care centers for the elderly and medically handicapped adults, including surveys for prelicensure, licensure, biannual, change of ownership, follow-up, and to investigate complaints and facility-reported incidents.
If you are interested in the Senior Center Plus Program, adult day care centers that operate using only a social, non-medical model, please contact the Maryland Department of Aging at (410) 767-1100 or (800) 243-3425.
Maryland Regulations
Regulations related to adult medical day care centers are found in COMAR 10.12.04. To order copies of COMAR regulations, contact Tarshia Neal at the Maryland Division of State Documents at (410) 260-3874 or [email protected]. Regulations are also available at public libraries - Find your nearest public library.
Licensure
The first step in obtaining an AMDC license is to complete a Letter of Interest and then Submit the Letter of Interest and the required attachment to OHCQ. After OHCQ reviews and approves the Letter of Interest and attachments, OHCQ will notify the applicant to proceed with the licensure process. The applicant will then complete an Application for an Adult Medical Day Care License. *PLEASE NOTE* - In order to complete the application, please download a copy to your device. Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Reader or another *.PDF application are required to complete the application. It is recommended that you save your progress throughout the process. This application will not be accepted until OHCQ reviews and approves the Letter of Interest.
