Tick Identification
Tick Identification is available through the Johns Hopkins Lyme and Tickborne Diseases Research and Education Institute.
Instructions for submitting the tick(s) for identification.
Please complete the Submitter Information portion of the form.

Use a piece of transparent tape to suspend/trap the tick.

Wrap the tick - suspended in transparent tape - in a slightly damp paper towel.

The damp paper towel and tick should then be placed in a plastic bag and sealed.

Mail the bag containing the tick, along with the identification form and a self-addressed envelope to :
