About Kids in Safety Seats (KISS)

About

Kids In Safety Seats (KISS) is a state-wide program funded through the Maryland Highway Safety Office.  Our mission is to reduce injuries and death among Maryland’s children by helping people to obtain and use car seats and booster seats correctly every time a child rides in a motor vehicle.

KISS services include:

​Car Seat Assistance Programs

  • Reduced cost purchase program (for financially eligible families)

In-person Technical Assistance

  • Child Passenger Safety 101 presentations 

  • Training for Child Transporters/Agency staff

  • Car seat checkup events

Virtual Education/Assistance

  • 800 Helpline to answer questions

  • Dedicated email to answer questions

  • Educational materials

  • Referrals to local agencies for assistance, where available

  • Where to find a car seat assistance program

  • How to schedule a car seat checkup or video car seat call

  • How to schedule a presentation or training for a group
