Community Options Advisory Council

The Community Options Advisory Council gives advice to the Maryland Department of Health. Members share their ideas and experiences to help improve Medicaid's Community Options Waiver and the Community First Choice, Community Personal Assistance Services and Increased Community Services programs to make sure everyone gets the care they need. 

The Council meets to discuss issues and barriers to quality service delivery, develop solutions, recommend policy changes and program improvements. 

Who can be a Council member?

A majority of Council members must be people with disabilities, older adults or their representative. Other members may include professional advocates, providers, lawmakers, health policy professionals and other interested community members.
