The Social Work Department provides services through direct intervention, support and education with patients/residents and their support systems while working within the interdisciplinary team at Western Maryland Hospital Center (WMHC). The Social Work Department aims to promote psychosocial function and utilization of care resources, while respecting and facilitating patients'/residents' rights to make informed decisions.
The Clinical Chaplain Services Department coordinates the pastoral and psychosocial spiritual care services offered to all patients, residents, support people, and staff of WMHC. Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach within WMHC and an inter-faith relationship with the community, the Clinical Chaplain Services Department's mission is to provide quality holistic patient care, with an emphasis on the "spiritual" dimensions of illness and wellness.
