The Disability Advisory Committee was formed in January 2017 and consists of members dedicated to improving the health of people with disabilities. The Disability Advisory Committee promotes health improvement by:
Gathering and disseminating data on issues relevant to the statewide health needs of people with disabilities.
Keeping members aware of important events and concerns in the disability community.
Collaborating to make the best use of people and resources.
Including people with disabilities in public health efforts.
Improving access to health care.
Providing technical assistance to chronic disease management programs to support access for people with disabilities.
Planning for long-term change by establishing a method for ongoing outreach.
