During outdoor activities, it is important to protect yourself from the harmful effects
of sun exposure, including
skin cancer and sunburn. These are caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. To protect yourself and your children from the damage caused by UV rays, follow these recommendations:
- Stay in the shade as much as possible, especially during the middle of the day when the sun is strongest.
-
Use clothing, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen with at least SPF 15 and UVA and UVB protection to shield all areas of the body from the sun. Reapply sunscreen every 2 hours, or sooner if your skin gets wet.
