WHEREAS,

Vaccine-preventable illnesses including influenza, ​measles, and pertussis (who​oping cough) have not gone away and still can be a health risk to people of all ages; and

WHEREAS,

Vaccines are one of the most effective life-saving public health interventions in history, with new vaccines developed each year to protect Marylanders from illnesses such as RSV and MPox; and

WHEREAS,

Immunization is a key component of primary health care and an indisputable human right which should be accessible to all Marylanders.; and 

WHEREAS,

It is important that all Marylanders stay up to date with their routine vaccinations for their individual and community health and wellbeing; and

WHEREAS,

National Immunization Awareness Month is a federally recognized annual observance that highlights the importance of routine vaccination for people of all ages;
