Patient Rights

​A Patient's Rights Advocate and a Legal Assistance Provider are both available to residents of The Finan Center under the direction of The Resident Grievance System.

A Patient's Rights Advocate is physically present at the Center four days per week and can be reached at 301-777-2263. The Legal Assistance Provider comes to the Center on an as-needed basis and can be obtained through the Rights Advocate or by calling 1-800-747-7454. Both defend the rights of the residents of the Center by attempting to resolve complaints and grievances and being available to represent residents at Clinical Review Panels.

The Legal Assistance Provider can also represent residents at admission hearings, Circuit Court appeals and for non-criminal legal matters.​
