Public Outreach

The Commission on Public Health is required by statute -- as well as our commitment to the principles of public health practice, which includes community engagement -- to solicit feedback and input from Marylanders.  Check out the information below to see how you can help shape our work.

Open Comments on Draft Recommendations

The Maryland Commission on Public Health solicits your feedback and wishes to hear from you!  Comments will be received for 30 days through Wednesday, July 9, 2025 11:59 p.m.  Click here to submit feedback on the draft recommendations.

Comments that are substantive will be addressed and included in the final report. [Md. Ann. Code Sec. 13-5106(c)(4)].  Substantive comments generally are defined as actionable, meaningful, and intended to constructively influence the development of recommendations.  Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to translate the recommendations or receive comments in other languages.  We acknowledge this is a limitation and will ensure it is reflected in our final report so future outreach can be more inclusive.

These draft recommendations are initial outputs from the Workgroups and as such vary in specificity and construction. Further refinement will occur in later drafts and after feedback has been received. The draft recommendations are grouped to facilitate the public review and open comment process. There are five content-specific groupings and one group that includes “cross-cutting” recommendation. Themes for each content grouping are provided as an orientation overview.
