The Division of Vital Records (DVR) of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH) issues certified copies of birth, death, fetal death, and marriage certificates (2007 – present) for events that occur in Maryland. The DVR also provides divorce verifications (1992 - present) and information on procedures for registering an adoption, foreign adoptions and legitimation.
