Notice of Proposed Action

The Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene proposes to amend Regulation .03 under COMAR 10.34.18 Continuing Education for Pharmacists. This action was considered by the Board of Pharmacy at a public meeting held November 16, 2016, notice of which was given by publication on the Board of Pharmacy website, http://dhmh.maryland.gov/pharmacy/SitePages/Home.aspx, from October 19, 2016 ― November 16, 2016, pursuant to General Provisions Article, §3-302(c), Annotated Code of Maryland.
Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this action is to allow licensed pharmacists to take a class in opioid dispensing to satisfy their continuing education requirement for license renewal.

There is no corresponding federal standard to this proposed action.

The proposed action has no economic impact.

(a) Earn 30 hours of approved CE within the 2-year period immediately preceding the license expiration date that include:
