Transportation and Outreach Support Microgrant​

​Maryland’s Office of Overdose Response (MOOR) is pleased to announce our new Transportation and Outreach Support Microgrant program. This is a limited funding opportunity available to nonprofit community-based recovery organizations that provide support to people who use drugs through street outreach, drop-in hours, food pantries, and connections to treatment and recovery services.  Applicants may request up to $5,000 per organization for funds to be completely utilized by June 30, 2025.​

​​The Community-Driven Responses to Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose Mortality Program ​

​The Community-Driven Responses to Opioid Use Disorder and Overdose Mortality Program helps community based organizations strengthen their operations, refine their programming, and foster community partnerships. Requests may include one or more of the following, or may propose other activities: Enhancing operational effectiveness, Strengthening public awareness, Program evaluation, and Increasing collaboration.  Applicants may apply for a grant of up to $75,000 per year for up to two years (up to $150,000 total). Applicant organizations must be a community-based 501(c)3 organization or a nonprofit with a 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor; have been in operation for at least two years; and have an annual operating budget between $150,000 and $7 million.​

Faculty Loan Repayment Program​

​HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce (BHW) will repay a portion of your health professional student loan in return for serving on the faculty at a health professions school.  Successful applicants will receive up to $40,000 in loan repayment assistance as well as funding to offset the tax burden.  Though the application and program guidance state a deadline of June 26 for this opportunity, BHW’s website updates it to July 3. 

Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Loan Repayment Program

​If you're a behavioral health clinician, clinical support staff, or trained in substance use disorder treatment, HRSA’s Bureau of Health Workforce offers up to $250,000 toward student loans through its STAR Loan Repayment Program. In return, you’ll commit to six years of full-time service at an approved facility, bringing vital care to communities that need it most.​

Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program​

​The Pediatric Specialty Loan Repayment Program (LRP) offers up to $100,000 in student loan repayment for eligible clinicians who provide pediatric medical subspecialty, pediatric surgical specialty, or child and adolescent behavioral health care, including substance use disorder (SUD) prevention and treatment.  In return, participants commit to three years of full-time service at an approved facility.

​NIHCM Research Grants - Call for Applications​

​​NIHCM Foundation supports innovative, independent, investigator-initiated research that has the potential to inform managed care organizations, policymakers, and related stakeholders to improve the affordability and quality of U.S. health care.
All NIHCM-funded research should advance the evidence base on rising health care costs and affordability, through improved health care management, financing, delivery and organization.
We are currently requesting letters of inquiry for projects in the following topic areas:   Drug Pricing and Affordability, Provider Consolidation & Market Power, Health Care Delivery, Chronic Disease Management, Artificial Intelligence.
We will also accept proposals outside of these specific topic areas that meet the general criteria of focusing on rising health care costs and affordability, through improved health care management, financing, delivery and organization.

FY2026 Addressing Disparities in Social Determinants of Health and Obesity in Maryland Communities​

​Through the USDA Rural Hospital Technical Assistance, the National Rural Health Association (NRHA) will work with contractors and partners to provide technical assistance for rural hospitals to identify and address healthcare needs and strengthen local healthcare systems. The overall goal of the program is to enhance hospital systems for improved efficiency and financial performance, bolster quality of care, and support communities.

Jail-based Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) Mentor Site Initiative​

The Jail-based MAT Mentor Site Initiative offers a peer-to-peer learning opportunity for jails interested in providing or enhancing medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services for individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs).

State Rural Transit Assistance Programs (RTAP)​

​The Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) provides funding for state level programs that offer training and technical assistance to improve mobility for Americans living in communities with populations less than 50,000. State RTAP funds are often used to provide training for rural and tribal transit agency personnel and to fund scholarships to attend transit-related conferences and training.
Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) Training and Mentoring​​

​​This program provides free training and mentoring services for eligible healthcare providers to effectively use buprenorphine and other medications to treat opioid use disorder (OUD) in high-need communities. Completion of the training will count toward meeting MATE Act training requirements for practitioners registering for or renewing a DEA license.

​​This opportunity is a national collaborative led by a nonprofit medication distributor, Dispensary of Hope, that sources donated medications to assist nonprofit health systems, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies in serving their patient population, especially individuals experiencing poverty and those that are uninsured.

CareQuest Philanthropy: Grants in Oral Health​​

​​CareQuest Institute for Oral Health offers funding for projects that address complex and upstream drivers of oral health disparities. Priority populations include racial and ethnic minorities, rural communities, people with disabilities, and older adults. Projects should demonstrate intent toward responding to the needs of historically marginalized communities.

​​Certified Professional by the American Heart Association - Telehealth (CPAHA) program​​

​The American Heart Association is offering a certification program for healthcare professionals interested in demonstrating a commitment to telehealth. The certification is designed to standardize training for healthcare providers in telehealth care delivery, increase skills and competencies in telehealth care delivery, and help to improve patient outcomes through the integration of telehealth.
Rural Access to Anesthesia Care Scholarship

​The Rural Access to Anesthesia Care Scholarship provides stipend scholarships for medical students to complete a rural rotation designed to teach future physicians about anesthesia in rural areas. Applicants will work with a mentor at a designated rural site.
Applicants must be third or fourth year medical students in an approved U.S. program and a medical student member of the American Society of Anethesiologists (ASA).​
Health Center Facility Loan Guarantee Program
​on going
​​The HRSA Health Center Facility Loan Guarantee Program facilitates access to capital funding and reduces financing costs for health centers by guaranteeing up to 80% of financing needed to support capital infrastructure projects. After approving a loan guarantee, HRSA monitors the loan repayment status and assesses the operational/financial viability of the health center during the life of the loan.

Funding may be used for the construction, expansion, alteration, renovation, and modernization of health center medical facilities.​

Hearst Foundations Health Grants

​​The Hearst Foundations assist leading regional hospitals, medical centers and specialized medical institutions providing access to healthcare for high-need populations. In response to the shortage of healthcare professionals necessary to meet the country’s evolving healthcare demands, the Foundations also fund programs designed to enhance skills and increase the number of practitioners and educators across roles in healthcare. The Foundations also support public health, medical research and the development of young investigators to help create a broad and enduring impact on the nation’s health.​​​​
