Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS)
Resources for New Mothers
Gives full health benefits for children up to age 19 and pregnant women of any age. This program is for families with low to average income.
Assists low income families by providing healthy supplemental foods and nutrition counseling for pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children under age five.
Rents safety seats at a low cost to families, offers literature and materials to educate the public on the state’s child passenger safety law, provides training and technical assistance in child passenger safety.

Provides a broad range of preventive health services, including contraceptive care, preconception care, education and counseling for all contraceptive choices, and other women’s health issues.
Assists low income families in planning and obtaining specialty medical and rehabilitative care for children up to age 22 with a chronic illness or disabling condition.
Provides crisis intervention, grief counseling, and coordinates parent support programs.

A 24-hour, toll-free crisis hotline dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Provides crisis intervention, information, and referrals to The Family Tree and other community resources.
Oversees 29 Family Support Centers throughout Maryland, which provide assistance (parenting skills, job readiness, ABE/GED classes, computer skills, etc.) to parents with children up to 3.
