The Diabetes Committee aims to improve the health and well-being of Marylanders by decreasing the prevalence of diabetes and prediabetes. The Committee:
Supports implementation of the Maryland Diabetes Action Plan and MDH programs promoting healthy living for the prevention of diabetes and prediabetes.
Works with community partners to increase enrollment in the National Diabetes Preventions Program (DPP) lifestyle change program, Diabetes Self-Management and Education (DSMES) programs, and broader healthy lifestyle programs.
