The Council meets 4 times a year, the first Thursday of February, April, October, and December from 10:00am to 12:00pm. For now, meetings are virtual. The meetings are open to the public.

We are in search of the following individuals to serve on the Youth Camp Safety Advisory Council, starting 07/01/2025.
- Camp Owner/Manager - The individual shall be actively engaged in the ownership or management for profit youth camp.
- Local Health - The individual shall actively work in a local health department.
The Council assists and advises the Maryland Department of Health on the development and review of regulations for certifying youth camps. These regulations include standards for personnel screening procedures, medical services and safety procedures. The Council also prepares an annual report to the Secretary on current issues affecting youth camps and children attending youth camps.
The Council term is 3 years and may be renewed for a second term. All Council members must submit an annual financial disclosure to the Maryland State Ethics Commission. All appointments to the Council are done through the Governor's Appointments Office.
