Maryland Public Health Services Administration

The vision of the MDH Public Health Services Administration is a future in which all Marylanders and their families enjoy optimal health and well-being.

The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Public Health Services Administration oversees vital public health services to Maryland residents, including infectious disease control, environmental health programs, maternal, child, and family health services, food safety, health care quality, and vital records, as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the State Anatomy Board, and activities of the 24 local health departments in the state.

The administration's mission is to protect, promote and improve the health and well-being of all Marylanders and their families through the provision of public health leadership​ and community-based public health efforts, in partnership with local health departments, providers, community-based organizations, and public and private sector agencies, giving special attention to at-risk and vulnerable populations. ​
