Update on Top 10 and Bottom 10 Skilled Nursing Home Facilities in Maryland Ranked by Staff Vaccination Rates

Maryland Department of Health also announces 25 facilities that did not submit adequate data required by state

Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Department of Health (MDH) today announced an update on the top 10 and bottom 10 nursing home facilities in the state ranked by percentage of staff with at least one dose of a vaccine against COVID-19 and highly contagious variants. MDH also announced nursing home facilities that did not submit adequate staff COVID-19 vaccination data as required by the state.

On May 4, 2021, the Maryland Department of Aging launched the Skilled Nursing Facilities Vaccination Dashboard, which weekly publishes data on residents and staff vaccinated against COVID-19 at each of the skilled nursing homes and congregate care facilities in the state.

“Nursing home staff who are vaccinated against COVID-19 are further protecting Maryland’s seniors and the facilities where they work,” said MDH Secretary Dennis R. Schrader. “Those who are unvaccinated are unnecessarily putting themselves and one of the state's most vulnerable populations at risk.”

“If you work at a nursing home and are still unvaccinated against COVID-19 or are a facility that has a large percentage of staff who are unvaccinated, you are jeopardizing the lives of the people you are entrusted to care for,” said Maryland Department of Aging Secretary Rona E. Kramer.  “Please, for our seniors, follow the example of the nursing homes that have all or nearly all of their staff vaccinated.”
