State Announces Summer-Friendly Hours at COVID-19 Testing Sites

Broad Testing Options Throughout the State Create Flexibility for Marylanders

Baltimore, MD (UPDATED June 9, 2020) – Governor Larry Hogan today announced summer-friendly hours at many of the state’s COVID-19 testing sites. Beginning this week, state-operated testing sites at Six Flags America theme park and several other locations will provide testing from 8am to 12pm on their days of operation.

“As we move into Phase Two of our Roadmap to Recovery, summer-friendly testing hours will provide greater flexibility for Marylanders who are getting back to work,” said Governor Larry Hogan. “With the help of partners across the state, Maryland has become a national leader in testing. As we quickly approach the milestone of half a million tests, I am proud that our community-based testing program has continued to expand and can accommodate anyone who would like a test.”

The Six Flags America testing site will be open on Wednesday, June 10 and Friday, June 12 from 8am to 12pm each day. No appointment or doctor’s order are required to get a test at the Six Flags America test site.

The following testing sites will be open on an appointment-only basis this week. Many of these sites will also offer summer hours, which patients can review when scheduling an appointment.

        Belair VEIP (Harford)

        Carroll County Agricultural Center (Carroll)

        Clinton VEIP (Prince George’s)

        Columbia VEIP (Howard)

        Glen Burnie VEIP (Anne Arundel)

        Hagerstown VEIP (Washington)

        Owings Mills VEIP (Baltimore)

        Prince Frederick VEIP (Calvert)

        Waldorf VEIP (Charles)

        White Oak VEIP (Montgomery)

Tests are provided at no out-of-pocket cost to patients, and Marylanders do not need to exhibit symptoms or suspect exposure to COVID-19 in order to get tested. Patients who are tested at state-operated sites will be contacted with their results, typically within two to five days. At all state testing sites, patients will be required to present official identification.

Additionally, dozens of private partners, such as CVS, Rite Aid, Walmart, and local health care providers, are offering tests at their facilities.

Information on scheduling a test and an interactive map and list of the major testing sites in Maryland is available at https://coronavirus.maryland.gov/pages/symptoms-testing. There, patients can also zoom to find information on the public transit options local to many testing sites, and test site operators can submit information to have their sites included on the published list.

NOTE: An earlier version of this announcement included information on the Prince George’s County Cheverly Health Center. For complete information on Prince George’s County’s testing operations, please visit: health.mypgc.us/COVIDtesting.
