PHOTO RELEASE: Maryland Department of Health and the Baltimore City Health Department provide free COVID vaccines, bivalent boosters and at-home test kits at Fiesta Baltimore
Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Department of Health (MDH), in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Health and their clinical partner Five Medicine, provided free COVID-19 vaccines, bivalent boosters, and at-home COVID test kits today at the 4th annual Fiesta Baltimore Latina Cultural Festival in Patterson Park, Baltimore City.
Free COVID vaccines, boosters, and at-home test kits were distributed at the event.
Visitors to the festival received free Pfizer primary vaccines for Marylanders ages 3 and older, as well as monovalent boosters for ages 5 through 11 and bivalent boosters for anyone over 12. Visitors could also receive free primary series Moderna and Novavax vaccines for anyone 12 and older.
The event is an example of statewide efforts for the equitable and convenient administration of COVID-19 vaccines, boosters, and testing supplies by bringing them directly to Marylanders who need them.
Outreach to the Spanish-speaking community is an important part of Maryland’s COVIDReady efforts.
In addition to the vaccines and boosters, MDH distributed free at-home COVID-19 test kits, and bilingual community canvassers shared educational material in English and Spanish about how to stay COVIDReady with vaccinations, boosters, COVID testing, and treatment.
