Maryland Department of Health Secretary Dennis R. Schrader visits Johns Hopkins Medicine-supported mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic in priority East Baltimore ZIP code 

Baltimore, MD—Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Secretary Dennis R. Schrader today visited a Johns Hopkins Medicine-supported mobile COVID-19 vaccination clinic set up at Park View at Ashland Terrace, a senior apartment building in a priority East Baltimore ZIP code, 21205.

The mobile clinic is a collaboration among MDH, Johns Hopkins Medicine, and Johns Hopkins Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response, the Baltimore City Health Department, and other healthcare entities. The clinic is expanding access to COVID-19 vaccinations for Baltimore’s most vulnerable populations, including seniors and individuals with disabilities in priority ZIP codes and underserved areas.

The event was organized by clinical physician and Director, Community Mobile Vaccination Clinics Dr. Katie O’Conor at Johns Hopkins. John Hopkins healthcare workers administered COVID-19 vaccinations to more than 70 senior African American Park View residents and neighbors today.

“To administer COVID-19 shots to these vulnerable East Baltimore residents today, Dr. O’Conor and her team worked with the neighborhood, the greater community, religious groups, the city of Baltimore, Maryland’s Vaccine Equity Task Force, and multiple others,” said Secretary Dennis R. Schrader. “It’s hard work and I can’t thank her enough for organizing this mobile clinic, which is part of our ground game and critical to ensuring we leave no one behind in our vaccination efforts.”
