Maryland Department of Health Secretary Dennis R. Schrader Visits Cecil and Harford County Vaccine Clinics

Also Visits Mental Health and Addiction Crisis Center

Baltimore, MD—Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Secretary Dennis R. Schrader was at Lorien Bel Air assisted living center and MedStar Health Bel Air Medical Campus in Bel Air, Harford County, and Stone Run Family Medicine in Rising Sun, Cecil County, yesterday as he continues to visit nursing homes, senior centers, and primary care practices to bolster efforts to vaccinate nursing and congregate care residents and staff, and every other Marylander 16 years and older across the state.

Secretary Schrader also visited the Klein Family Harford Crisis Center, a behavioral health care and addiction crisis center in Bel Air.

“A major component of our vaccination ground game is getting as many congregate care facility residents and staff vaccinated as soon as possible,” said MDH Secretary Schrader. “Earlier this week, we further expanded our statewide GoVAX campaign to target workers in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other congregate settings, urging them to join the more than five million other Marylanders and get a COVID-19 vaccine as soon as possible to protect themselves and those in their care.”

“Mental health and addiction centers have an integral role in keeping Marylanders healthy and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Secretary Schrader. “Anyone who needs mental health or addiction assistance for themselves, a family member, or friend, should reach out to their local crisis center or call Maryland’s Helpline, 211 and press 1.”
