What is the Interested Parties Advisory Group?
The Interested Parties Advisory Group is a group of people with direct home and community-based services experience who help make sure that these services work well for the people they serve.
The Group gives advice to the Maryland Department of Health. Members share their ideas and experiences to help improve Medicaid home and community-based services and make sure everyone gets the care they need.
Home and community-based services include habilitation services ,home health aide, and personal care services.
What do IPAG members do?
The group members:
- See if home and community-based services provider payment rates are enough to ensure participants can get the care they need.
- Talk about problems people have getting care.
- Help prepare an annual report for the Governor.
Group members serve a three-year term. There is no pay for a member’s service. However, the Maryland Department of Health may cover travel expenses.
Who can join IPAG?
You can apply if you are Medicaid home and community-based service:
- Consumer organization representative.
- Direct care worker.
- Employer trade association representative.
- Participant or their authorized representative.
- Residential service agency representative.
- Worker organization representative.
