Mission
The mission of the Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (MHHD) is to address the social determinants of health and eliminate health disparities by leveraging the resources of the Maryland Department of Health (MDH), providing health equity consultation, impacting external communications, guiding policy decisions, and influencing strategic direction on behalf of the Secretary of Health.
Vision
MHHD's vision is to achieve health equity where all individuals and communities have the opportunity and access to achieve and maintain good health.
Now Accepting Applications! Maryland Commission on Health Equity
The Maryland Department of Health is accepting applications for membership seats on
the Maryland Commission on Health Equity. This Commission will serve as
the governance structure for Maryland’s work under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services’ States Advancing All-Payer Health Equity Approaches and Development (AHEAD) Model. Learn more about AHEAD:
